 The School Boy

 Written by- William Blake (1757- 1827)

O father and mother if buds are nipped ( ও বাবা, ও মা, কুঁড়ি যদি যায় ভেঙ্গে

And blossoms blown away; ( ফুল যদি যায় ঝরে) 

And if the tender plants are stripped ( আর উপরে যায় কচি চারাগুলো) 

Of their joy in the springing day, ( বসন্ত দিনের আনন্দগুলো)

By sorrow and care's dismay, ( দুঃখ ও অযত্নের বিষন্নতায়)

How shall the summer arise in joy, ( কীভাবে গ্রীস্ম হবে মধু মায়ায়। 

Or the summer fruits appear? (কীভাবে ফলবে গ্রীস্মের ফল?)

Or how shall we gather what griefs destroy, ( কীভাবে পাব সেসব আমরা দুঃখ যেগুলো করেছে লয়)

Or bless the mellowing year, ( কীভাবে বন্দনা করি সুখময় বছর) 

When the blasts of winter appear? ( যখন এসে যায় শীতের বিস্ফোরণ।) 

Theme: 

A child is like a bud from which a flower blooms fully. Similarly a child wants to be in full bloom during its spring season to obtain  strength and courage to face strange and unusual situation to come in future.  So it implores its parents not to nip its dream in the bud in the very spring season. 

( শিশু হচ্ছে একটি ফুলের কুঁড়ির মত যা থেকে একটি ফুল পরিপূর্ণ ভাবে বিকশিত হয়। একইভাবে একটি শিশু পূর্ণভাবে বিকশিত হতে চায় তার বসন্তে আগামীর সকল অদ্ভুত ও অস্বাভাবিক পরিবেশ মোকাবিলা করার মত শক্তি ও সাহস সঞ্চয় করার জন্য। তাই সে তার বাবা, মাকে বসন্ত ঋতুতে তার স্বপ্ন অঙ্কুরে বিনষ্ট না করতে অনুরোধ করছে)
